A little information on the owner of Wrightwood Electric Systems…
“Exceptional Quality Comes Standard”
— Mike Wasiukiewicz, Owner – Wrightwood Electric Systems, LLC
Blogging – something I never thought I’d get into as an electrician. Seems like that’s something for chefs, interior designers, or YouTube personalities. The more I thought about it however, the more it seemed like it’s something I should be doing – a way to give homeowners and business owners, a perspective from within the trade of electrical construction and design. So starting today – I’ll do just that.
My name is Mike Wasiukiewicz, I’m the owner of Wrightwood Electric Systems, LLC, and I’ve been in the electrical industry since I was 16 years old. I’m now 34 years old – so I’ve literally spent just over half of my life working in this wonderful, challenging, and constantly-evolving trade. When I was 16, I started working as an electrician’s helper during the summer, learning how to bend conduit, layout openings, and pull wire. By the time I was 19, I was running small residential jobs on my own, for the same company. In my early 20s, I worked for a food processing plant on the south side of Chicago, and I entered the industrial electric market. Throughout my 20s, I kept pursuing the industrial side of the trade, and became a machinery and equipment troubleshooting guru. In my late 20s though present day, I’ve specialized in automated medium-voltage (4kV-38kV) switchgear. Throughout the years, I still work with and partner up with the company I started with nearly two decades ago, when these opportunities come up.
As I mentioned earlier, the trade is constantly evolving, but a lot of the basics have remained the same. What I’d like to do, is help readers understand these basics, so they’re prepared to have a conversation with an electrical contractor, should a conversation ever come up. In addition the basics, I’ll be posting some more advanced content as well. If an opportunity arises where I can provide some valuable content on this blog, I’ll do so.
I look forward to publishing for you. If you have any topics that you’d like to see covered, I invite you to visit our Facebook page, and post a comment regarding what you’re interested in. You can also visit our website, sign up for our mailing list, and/or fill out a contact us form.
Thanks for reading,
Mike W.
